The impact of relational behavior between enterprises on innovation flexibility
    Song Hua, Wang Lan
    2012, 33(3): 1-10,17.
    Abstract ( 1710 )   PDF (1788KB) ( 2567 )
Based on resource dependency theory and contingency theory, how various types of tie portfolios, i.e., exploratory and exploitative relationship could be beneficial to innovation flexibility is examined. Environmental competitiveness and dynamics are combined as moderators, for the how the extraneous environmental conditions have influence on the efficiency of exploratory relationship and exploitative relationship is explored. By using survey data collected from a sample of 194 firms in mainland China, it is demonstrated that exploratory and exploitative relationship are both positively related to the firms innovation flexibility. It is also found that the positive relationship between them is moderated by the level of competitiveness and dynamics in their environments. Environment dynamics positively moderates the relationship between exploratory relationship and innovation flexibility. Environment competitiveness negatively moderates the relationship between exploratory relationship and innovation flexibility; on the contrary, it positively moderates the relationship between exploitative relationship and innovation flexibility. The result means that with an increase of competitiveness, firms will employ less exploratory relationship but more exploitative relationship to enhance innovation flexibility. With an increase of dynamics, firms will employ more exploratory relationship to enhance innovation flexibility.

Bai Xuan, Li Yongqiang, Zhao Dongyang
    2012, 33(3): 27-35.
    Abstract ( 1866 )   PDF (1098KB) ( 2459 )
It is significant to fully understand the effects of boost and hindrance caused by social capitals. By using PLS for assessing hierarchical construct models, it is shown that firstly, social capital has the duplicity effect, namely, both negative and positive influences coexist. Secondly, social support and social cost mediate the positive and negative effects of social capital on enterprise innovation performance, respectively. Thirdly, it is highly recommended for entrepreneurs to increase the trust level among network members, which is helpful for enhancing social support and for decreasing social cost. Finally, the financial and resource supports due to social capital contribute more to innovation performance than other supports do.

Yang Jianjun, Zhang Zhao, Mei Xiaofang
    2012, 33(3): 36-41,80.
    Abstract ( 1572 )   PDF (1492KB) ( 2050 )
The relationship among trust of stockholder and manager, manager's risk-taking, information asymmetry degree, and innovation performance is studied by an empirical method. The study shows that the trust degree of stockholder and manager has a positive and direct impact on the innovation performance. At the same time, there is a significant association between the trust degree and the willingness for manager's risk-taking. The manager's risk-taking willingness affects innovation performance positively. The trust degree of stockholder and manager could also indirectly affect innovation performance through manager's risk-taking willingness. Empirical analysis indicates that the decrease of information asymmetry degree is able to obviously enhance the effect which the trust degree between stockholder and manager has on the innovation performance. The beneficial supplement to some of the existing theory is made and some reference for enterprises' practice is provided.

Wu Bingshan, Zhao Hua, Luo Jun
    2012, 33(3): 65-71.
    Abstract ( 1649 )   PDF (1416KB) ( 2465 )
From the perspective of Stackelberg games, the micro-mechanism of knowledge sharing in high-tech enterprises is researched and by taking the knowledge teams as the research object, the leader and the follower are used to describe the different levels of knowledge teams' member. By analyzing the effect of all inputs, performance allocation, and safety coefficient on knowledge sharing, a Stackelberg game model of decision-making in knowledge sharing is established and the simulation analysis is conducted to explore high-tech enterprises in the process of knowledge sharing micro-mechanism. The results show that firstly, the member's performance partition coefficient is a positively correlated with the input in knowledge sharing. Secondly, the safety coefficient has a positive impact on input and earning in knowledge sharing. There is a prerequisite that performance partition coefficient of the leaders should be large enough for entive knowledge teams. At the same time, the ratio of performance partition coefficient between the leaders and all the followers should be larger than knowledge conversion coefficient. These conclusions could provide the reference to decision makers for the knowledge sharing strategies of high-tech enterprises.

    2012, 33(3): 89-95,112.
    Abstract ( 2034 )   PDF (1476KB) ( 2458 )
Diversification is a key strategy for the conglomerates. Due to different macroeconomic environments, the empirical studies on the relationship between diversification level and performance of corporates always arrive to controversial conclusions. As distinct from previous research, the fixed research objects are taken however under the different business environments. The financial data of 30 largest south Korean conglomerates during the 14 years(1990~1996, 1999~2005) are used and internal management factors are taken as independent variables and business performances are employed as dependent variables to compare high and low diversified firms' performances before and after the Asian Financial Crisis. To conclude, this the findings and implications for Chinese firms are as follows: Firstly, the financial crisis encourages firms to lay stress on internal management factors, and firms adjust their risk management strategy. Secondly, after the crisis, the positive correlation between firms' internal management factors and business performances becames highly significant. Thirdly, low-diversified firms achieve higher business performances than high-diversified firms do.

The technology transformation policy system in China and its synergetic operation mechanism
    Liu Hua, ZhouYing
    2012, 33(3): 105-112.
    Abstract ( 1753 )   PDF (1089KB) ( 2374 )
Along with the conversion of policy goals, the increase of policy makers main body, and the expansion of adjustment range for China's technology transfer policy system, the focus of policy making should turned to perfect policy system and establish operation mechanism. However, the present operation model of technology transfer policy still follows the conventional model which lays stress on single policy efficiency. The conflict between variety policies cancels out the efficacy of policy and there is a consequent internal friction in the policy system. The synergetic operation model of policies is an efficient operation model, which applies the fundamental principles of synergetics to the construction and operation of policy system. On the basis of this model, the proposition to establish synergetic operation mechanism for China's technology transfer policy system is put forward.
