    Zhang Huayao1, Shi Xiaokun2

    2011, 32(1): 22-28 .
    Abstract ( 1920 )   PDF (991KB) ( 2631 )
Abstract: By taking Japan’s fast developing period from 60’s to 80’s of last century as the background, the cooperation in innovation activities is focused by analyzing the patenting information of the database of triadic patent families built by OECD. Five Japanese firms and two American benchmark firms are taken as the sample firms. Patents of all over the world of two five-year periods and two single years are also investigated. The results show that Japanese firms have higher cooperation level during their catching-up period, which exhibits an exogenous characteristic. The project-level cooperation trend for patenting in Japanese firms is also higher than that at the world level, which shows that the team work cooperation culture of Japanese firms offers more information sharing in the innovation. The inspiration that China and Chinese firms could draw from is that industrial policies leading to technological cooperation in technical advance should be attached much importance and corporate culture that is beneficial to cooperation should be cultivated.

    2011, 32(1): 45-51 .
    Abstract ( 2182 )   PDF (871KB) ( 2518 )
Abstract: Based on the cointegration theory, the dynamic equilibrium relationship between public R&D investment, technology innovations and rice productivity growth for China over the period of 1990-2006 in both long and short terms is demonstrated. The results show that there exist long-term unilateral Granger causality relationship in the presence of cointegration between public R&D investment and technology innovation, and the relationship either between technology innovation and TFP growth, or between public R&D investment and TFP growth is insigniticant. Moreover, Granger causality tests demonstrate that unilateral Granger causality exists between public R&D investment and the change of technology innovation, meanwhile between applied research investment and the change of TFP in the short term, however the change of technology innovation is still not the main reason that promotes TFP growth in the short run, and has no effect on the TFP growth. According to empirical results, relevant explanations are provided at last.

    2011, 32(1): 60-67 .
    Abstract ( 2246 )   PDF (1063KB) ( 3216 )
Abstract: As an enterprise adapting the dynamic environment, strategic transformation plays an important role in enterprise sustainable development. Moreover, as a capacity which can alter enterprise’s other capabilities, enterprise’s dynamic capabilities have an important effect on the strategic transformation. Therefore, the process mechanism of strategic transformation is analyzed based on the dynamic capabilities theory. The dynamic capabilities in the context of strategic transformation can be divided into four components including environmental sensing capability, learning and absorptive capability, changing and renewal capability as well as integrating and reconfiguring capability. Then a conceptual model for the relationship among dynamic capabilities, transformational factors and subsequent performance is brought forward. Based on a longitudinal case study, it is shows that (1) the premise and key factor for implementing a strategic transformation successfully under the dynamic environment is to possess the dynamic capabilities matched with the environment, which will affect key elements of strategic transformation and further determine the final performance; (2) The dynamic capabilities will influence the strategic transformation in a continuous and improved way, and as a result, the succeeded transformation can be achieved only through the sustainable and increased dynamic capabilities cultivated by the enterprise.

    Abstract ( 1887 )   PDF (1157KB) ( 2572 )
Abstract: According to the meaning of scientific development concept, namely, insisting on human-oriented, comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development, the science and technology evaluation indicators system suited for provinces in China is constructed through the selecting and screening of science and technology indicators. According to the evaluation guidelines which include input of S&T, output of S&T, the influence of S&T on economy, the influence of S&T on society, the maximizing deviations method is used to give weights to each indicator, the grey relational analysis is adopted to give scores to each indicator, an evaluation model is set up based on grey relational analysis. Ward cluster is employed to analyze the regional characteristics of 14 typical provinces in China. The main contributions of the study lie on four aspects: firstly, the science and technology appraising indicator system which represents the meaning of comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development is sep up to reflect the principle of scientific development view. Secondly, ward cluster is used to find out the non-balance character of China’s regional science and technology development. Thirdly, the maximizing deviations method is employed to give weights to each indicator in order to avoid the randomness caused by ensuring the weights subjectively. Fourthly, the indicator patent authorization amount is adopted to substitute patent authorization ratio to avert from the phenomenon existing in undeveloped regions that both the patent application amount and patent authorization amount are low, however the patent authorization ratio is high.
