    2011, 32(2): 122-127 .
    Abstract ( 3900 )   PDF (1591KB) ( 2938 )
Abstract: At first, the heterogeneous beliefs among investors impact on financing implement selection and financing scale in presence of Chinese constraints for selling short are discussed. Subsequently, using adjusted turnover and abnormal return volatility as two proxies, the implications of heterogeneous beliefs for financing implement selection and financing scale are empirically studied. The results indicate that: (1)The greater the heterogeneous beliefs are, the more likely the firm chooses to issue equity; (2)Heterogeneous beliefs are negatively related to the financing scale for equity issuers; (3)Heterogeneous beliefs are unrelated to financing scale for debt issuers. It shows that heterogeneous beliefs affect financing implement selection, but the relation between heterogeneous beliefs and financing scale is influenced by financing implement.

    Xing Yong1, Tan Benyan2
    2011, 32(2): 128-135 .
    Abstract ( 4045 )   PDF (1081KB) ( 3508 )
Abstract: A dynamic panel data mode is established according to the financial data of 522 China’s manufacturing listed companies from 2001 to 2007, the applicability of the company’s balance-sheet model for financial crisis proposed by Krugman(1999) to China is analyzed. It turns out that under the condition of currency mismatch, the fluctuation of RMB exchange rate has significant effect on the company’s short-term credit ability but little effect on the long-run credit ability. Moreover, the effect is dynamic, and the effect caused by fluctuation of RMB exchange rate of the lag of one-year on company’s credit ability is more obvious than the effect of the same year. Thus the company’s balance-sheet model for financial crisis is applicable to China.

    2011, 32(2): 136-144 .
    Abstract ( 4283 )   PDF (1269KB) ( 3782 )
Abstract: The enterprise intellectual capital in 1990’s is the latest theory about enterprise competitive sources. Nahapiet and Ghoshal proposed the formation mechanism of intellectual capital from the perspective of enterprise social capital, however, there is no verification that has been done by scholars. Here, a theory framework is refined to research on enterprise intellectual capital formation mechanism from social capital perspective, which will further boost the enterprise performance. An empirical study is made based on statistic data of enterprises in China. The results show that the model assumptions are partly confirmed, and some conclusions and assumptions are totally opposite. These conclusions are relevant to the attitudes of the Chinese in transition economy period and lack of communication, trust and shared vision of Chinese enterprises.

The efficiency of science and technology resource allocation in Jiangsu Province based on an improved DEA model
Guan Yan, Wu Hecheng, Huang Shun
    2011, 32(2): 145-150 .
    Abstract ( 4082 )   PDF (919KB) ( 3686 )
Abstract: In the research of regional science and technology resource allocation, many articles select the indicators qualitatively. However, there mustbe many subjective factors in these qualitative methods. Therefore, an evaluation index is constructed by the method of correlation analysis. Considering output is lagging behind input in the field ofscience and technology, and the lag reflected the following years instead of one particular year after the resource investment has made. On the basis of this, the classic DEA model is improved, and then the efficiency of science and technology resource allocation in Jiangsu Province is analyzed. The result shows that the allocationisinvalid in vast majority cities of Jiangsu Province. At last, the reasons is analyzed and some countermeasures are put forward.
