Citizen adoption of E-government Services: An empirical study

Abstract: Abstract: Enhancing citizen adoptionintentionis an important approach for e-government development in China. A model for citizen adoption of e-government servicesin China is construced. The research model is empirically validated based on 630 samples by using structural equation modeling technique. The results showthat: (1) perceived relative advantage and compatibility, self-efficacy play significant roles in citizen’s adoption intention at all three service levels, i.e., basic information, information exchange, and transaction processing services; awareness, trust in government, and perceived trust significantly affectcitizen’sadoption intention at three differentlevels, respectively; (2) the three antecedents of perceived trust are trust in Internet, trust ingovernment, and awareness.
