Abstract:     Abstract: The impact of entrepreneurship on economic growth is examined by using a panel dataset of 29 provinces in China over 10 years. First, an indicator of entrepreneurship is defined as venture entrepreneurship and innovation entrepreneurship. Then it is introduced into the traditional growth regression framework and SYS-GMM is employed to estimate its effect on the economic growth. The area of sowing seeds per capita is used as instrumental variables to identify the causal effect of entrepreneurship on economic growth. The results suggest that entrepreneurship has a significant positive effect on economic growth under the condition that other demographic and institutional variables are under control.
