A research on the relationship between managerial cognition and innovation capabilities of firms
    Zhang Jun, Xu Qingrui
    2018, 39(4): 1-9.
    Abstract ( 837 )
Firms’ innovation capabilities are the micro-foundation to support the strategy of “transformation driven by innovation” to realize. As a result, it is of great importance to leverage a firm’s innovation capabilities. Many scholars have contributed to explain how a firm’s innovation capabilities to be constructed. But the extant literature still cannot explain what factors drive a firm’s endogenous development of innovation capabilities per se.. Integrating the theory of dynamic capability and managerial cognition, the present paper explores the relationship between CEOs’ managerial cognition and firms’ innovation capabilities from the perspective of managerial cognition by using data collected from 419 domestic firms. Findings got: (1) CEOs’ managerial cognitions are key drivers to construct firms’ innovation capabilities; (2) The interaction between a CEO’s resource cognition and environment cognition affects a firm’s innovation capabilities’ construction complicatedly; (3) The effects of a CEO’ managerial cognition promotes a firm’s innovation capabilities’ development shows the characteristic of “inside-out” as resource cognition driven rather than that of “outside-in” as environment munificence driven. Finally, the theoretical contribution, managerial implication and limitation have been discussed.

Ma Ying, Xie Yingying, Hu Jingjing, Fan Sha, Wu Chen
    2018, 39(4): 10-20.
    Abstract ( 491 )
Technological innovation is an effective means for enterprises to enhance their competitiveness and maintain their sustainable development. Under the background of "Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation", the number of SMES continues to grow, and they have become the main body of technological innovation. Grass-roots enterprises (GRES) in Hubei province play an important role in economic development, and their scientific and technological innovation activities are more and more frequent. The evaluation of the technological innovation ability of GRES is of great significance for improving their innovation ability and their healthy sustainable development. This paper constructs the evaluation index from two aspects: the input and the output of science and technology innovation, and uses the method of DEA to comprehensively evaluate the science and technology innovation ability for GRES in Hubei province. Among them, the efficiency of R&D of GRES is higher in Wuhan, Xiangyang and Yichang, but it is not stable in E’zhou, Huangshi and in Shennongjia, and input redundancy and output deficiency both exist. Finally, the paper suggests some measures to improve the science and technology innovation ability of GRES.

    Wang Haijun, Wen Xingqi
    2018, 39(4): 21-31.
    Abstract ( 495 )
The core issue focused in this paper is: how to construct an effective industry-university-institute-user (IURU) collaboration innovation mode combining its mechanism guided by the demands of users? Around this problem, the resource dependence theory (RDT) is bridged with modularity theory and collaboration theory, and the influential relationship of the cross coordination of RFT and modularity on IURU collaboration innovation is analyzed. Moving forward, the IURU collaboration innovation organization network model featuring module as interaction carrier, is designed followed by the module-based coordination mechanism. Some conclusions are drawn after further checking with case study, which includes: (1)In the modular IURU collaboration innovation organization network, RDT is able to facilitate the cooperative innovation among multiple stakeholders. Meanwhile, modularity may not only alleviate the excessive dependence of external resources, but acts as the integrator between innovation demand side and supply side; (2) modularity can be adopted to promote users’ requirements analysis?module innovation?resource configuration?organization collaboration, and it is also useful for defining the IURU collaboration innovation focus and strategy; (3) the module-based coordination mechanism (formal constraint mechanism, continuous interaction mechanism and modular product architecture (MPA) coordination mechanism) is helpful for enhancing the knowledge interaction and knowledge innovation among enterprise, university, institute, etc. which is also useful for promoting the sustainable operation of IURU collaboration innovation organization network.

It makes no sense to gild the lily-clique-degrees, number of external enterprises and innovation performance of communities in alliance network
    Zhao Yan,Xu Yuelei
    2018, 39(4): 32-42.
    Abstract ( 377 )
Communities in the network have closer ties than general alliances, which contribute to share of knowledge and collaborative research and development. Current studies are less concerned with clique communities and their impact on communities’ innovation. Based on the data of 9 high-tech industries in China, the clique-degrees are calculated in this paper. The more complex the cliques are, the larger the clique-degrees are. The clique percolation algorithm and the negative binomial regression model are applied to study the effect of the basic 3-cliques communities on the innovation capability. The result shows that there is an inverted U-type between clique-degrees and the innovative ability of communities, while the external enterprise number will inhibit the process. The study can be used as a reference for the choice of cliques’ communities in the enterprise alliance.

Shi Bin, Li Kai, Yan Jianyuan
    2018, 39(4): 64-73.
    Abstract ( 357 )
With the rapid development of location based on service (LBS), factors influencing the use of LBS and its cognitive process catch the wide attention of scholars. Based on justice theory and value-based adoption model, this paper builds a cognitive process model of users’ willingness to use LBS. Our hypotheses are tested with the data of 264 samples. The results show that personalization, interaction, perceived usefulness and perceived entertainment are all positively related to privacy concern. What’s more, privacy control and privacy policy of LBS have negative correlations with users’ privacy concern. Meanwhile, users’ perceived usefulness and perceived entertainment could increase users’ perceived value so that users are more willing to use LBS, while the decrease of users’ privacy concern would impair their perceived value, which leads to users’ intention to LBS.

Local government R&D worship and enterprise patent bubbles
Shen Yu, Huang Hao, Zhao Ling
    2018, 39(4): 83-91.
    Abstract ( 525 )
From the angle of government resources allocation, this paper examines the relationship between local government “R&D worship” and enterprise patent bubbles. The results show that emphasizing patent quantity and neglecting patent quality obviously exists in local governments’ support for innovative enterprises. The more patents, the higher the government subsidies and the more tax incentives, but there is no obvious relationship between patent quality and government resources allocation; however, this situation has been alleviated with the improvement of marketization. Further studies show that patent quality is more helpful than patent quantity to improve enterprise performance and patent quality also gains more excess return than patent quantity. The research of this paper is helpful to rational distribution of innovative resources, and it also provides a reference for the government to develop innovative incentive policies.
