Abstract: Information technology (IT) can be the problem and solution for sustainability. While IT is a source of environmental contamination during manufacturing and disposal, IT also presents opportunities for firms to greening IT and/or increasing their efficiency of resource use. Extant researches about IT capabilitly’s contribuation to suatainability are inadquate. On the basis of resource based view, we investigate the relationship between IT capability and sustainbility performance, and the relevant influential mechanism. The proposed model is tested by using the variance-based structural equation modeling technique with matched-pair survey data from a sample of 214 Chinese firms. Results indicate that firm’s IT capability contrubutes to its sustainability perfermance, and business process agility plays a significant mediation mechanism. At last, the article puts forward to management implication and the future researh.
