Xu Yusen, Wang Xiangchun, Xu Nana, Zheng Supeng
    2017, 38(6): 9-17.
    Abstract ( 566 )
Most of the existing researches on reverse innovation mainly focus on manufacturing. The issues of reverse innovation of engineering and technical service have not been well investigated. Some significant results have been found through grounded analysis of three latecomer engineering and technical service enterprises cases. Firstly, key success factors are identified, including the localized technological capacities, the capacities of international connection, the capacities of governing services links and the capacities of organizational learning. Secondly, evolution and regulations of key factors are concluded, such as evolution from “indigenous technology localization” to “international technology localization”, “partial and passive international connections” to “comprehensive international connections”, “adaptive learning” to “leading edge learning” and bootstrapping of capacities of governing “services links”. This paper extends the concept of localized technological capacities. In addition to “indigenous technology localization activities”, “international technology localization activities” should be included. This paper define the concept of “services links”, the links and construction process have been revealed.

A research on the integration and supervison mechanism of technology innovation risks
    Wu Zefu, Jie Wu
    2017, 38(6): 18-27.
    Abstract ( 563 )
This study extends risk management theory by exploring the role of board of directors in the relationship between integrated risk management and product innovation in China. We focused on two specific factors that reflect the effectiveness of a board’s risk oversights: a board’s direct involvement in risk oversights vs. its utilization of external audit in risk oversights, and examined their moderating effects on the relationship between integrated risk management and product innovation. Panel data from a survey of 1,178 Chinese firms was analyzed to test the hypotheses. The results show that a board’s direct involvement in risk oversights moderates the positive effect of integrated risk management on product innovation success. Its use of external audit in risk oversight similarly weakens the relationship. This study has an important message for managers regarding how an effective board contributes to the innovation benefits associated with risk management in product innovation. The results also have important implications for emerging economy firms pursuing an integrated approach to risk management in product innovation.

    2017, 38(6): 28-42.
    Abstract ( 669 )
By means of inductive and deductive methods, this paper explores the process and mechanism of how core firm’s collaborative capability stimulates proactive behavior of innovation network to achieve the network’s continuous upgrading, and then leads to the sustainable development of the related industries on the basis of the the perspective of co-evolution. The results show that there has positive relevance among core firm’s collaborative capability, innovation network and industry development, and the co-evolution path of them is determined by the strategic orientation of core enterprise. Concretely and specifically, the core firm with adaptability strategy presents inverted-U-shaped co-evolution path, the core firm with stability strategy presents inverted-W-shaped co-evolution path, and the core firm with change strategy presents up-S-shaped co-evolution path. This paper contributes to uncover the black box of how the core firm’s innovation network upgrades and how it then causes the industry development .

An evaluation of science and technology innovation efficiency of cities from the dynamic perspective by taking 9 prefecture-level cities in Fujian Province as an example
Zhu Pengyi, Liu Donghua, Huang Xinhuan
    2017, 38(6): 43-50.
    Abstract ( 635 )
Science and technology (S&T) innovation system of 9 prefecture-level cities in Fujian Province is taken as a research object in this paper. Super efficiency-DEA window model is applied to analyze the dynamic changes of various cities’ S&T innovation efficiency from 2010 to 2014. The fundamental causes of these changes are explored with Malmquist index. The results show that S&T innovation efficiencies for most of the cities are DEA invalid, and the improvement space is large. Innovation efficiency of economically-developed cities such as Fuzhou and Xiamen is relative low. There is a significantly crowding effect of investment in Fuzhou. The index analysis shows that technological progress is always a key restriction factor in the growth of total factor productivity, and comprehensive technical efficiency improvement is more determined by scale efficiency improvement. Finally, some suggestions are proposed to improve the S&T innovation efficiency of Fujian. 

The study of relation resources' impact on cluster enterprise cooperation performance
    Chen Xiaofeng
    2017, 38(6): 59-66.
    Abstract ( 516 )
The existing research is generally believed that relation resources can significantly promote cooperation performance in the process of cluster enterprise cooperation, but the path is not clear and lack of empirical evidence. Based on the sample data of related enterprises in jiangsu and zhejiang industrial cluster, the paper constructed a multiple mediation effect model including relation ability and interfirm trust, tested mediation effect and verified hypothesis by using the structural equation model. Results show that the overall relation resources can significantly promote cooperation performance but the direct effect is not obvious. During this process, relation ability has played a partial intermediary role and interfirm trust has played a entire role in the meanwhile. To some extent, this also explains why some cluster enterprises’ cooperation performance vary widely while they facing the same relationship resources. This paper argues that building and sustaining relation ability which is based on trust has a decisive influence on cooperation performance in long-term.

    Abstract ( 638 )
this paper verifies the explanation utility of M.E. Porter’s diamond model and the interaction effect among its factors in China's design sector applying dual structure equation models with Likert Scale data based on actual performance and importance evaluation of the sector. Analysis reveals that in China's design sector there exists no factor-driven and investment-driven stage; and there is significant interaction among the 4 determinant factors in two diamond models, but more significant interaction among the 4 determinant factors and government is existing in the important evaluation model. both models can explain the China's design industry's competitive advantage, but the government's role is a decisive factor in the important evaluation model, and not in the actual performance model, validates the government's direct role, which is necessary to improve competitive advantage through innovation-driven.

New firms’ institutional embeddedness and forward movement of corporate social responsibilities
Bao Yingqun, Zhang Huiyu, Sui Wenjuan
    2017, 38(6): 100-107.
    Abstract ( 684 )
The new trend of bringing corporate social responsibility has become a hot topic in CSR studies, but for the delimna of social involvement faced by new firms, the academic attention to the inherent mechanims of this trend is rather limited. Based on a sample of 1142 new Chinese private firms, this paper explores how formal and informal institutional embeddedness influences new firms’ social involvement and then investigates the moderating role of firm competence. Empirical results show that, both formal and informal institutional embeddedness promotes new firms’ participation in social issues in which the latter plays a more important role. Further research proves that innovative competence weakens this linkage. Exploring laws of new firms’ social involvement, this paper has both theoretical and practical implications for the new trend of bringing corporate social responsibility forward and new firms’ growth.

Impact of domain knowledge-specific investments on investors’ competence-building
    2017, 38(6): 108-115.
    Abstract ( 597 )
Within the context of software outsourcing, this paper constructs a two-stage moderated mediation model to investigate the mechanisms and effects of impact of domain knowledge-specific investments(DKSIs) on competence-building of the investing parties. Based on 194 pairs of software outsourcing relationsips, we adopt the general path analysis framework to conduct our empirical study. The main conclusions are as follows. Firstly, DKSIs promote competence-building via the mediation of clients’ knowledge spillover. Secondly, software vendors’ subcontracting capacities and absorptive capacities exert moderating impacts on the indirect effect at the first and second-stage, respectively. This research provides a new evidence regarding the heterogeneous effects of DKSIs on the investing parties, further reveals the impact mechanisms and cotingent factors. Furthermore, our findings have strong managerial implications for the software vendors.

An empirical study of the continuous donation’s influence on corporate value—An evidence of the listed companies from China’s A-share market
    Pan Qi1,2, Zhu Yiming1
    2017, 38(6): 116-124.
    Abstract ( 683 )
Is it worth to persist on donation? That's the kind of question we have to face and clarify to persuade companies into donating continuously when China's charity is still in the initial stage. Using China’s a-listed companies’ panel data, the paper analyses and makes an empirical test on the continuous donation’s influence on corporate value which is based on the enterprise theory of time compression diseconomies and dynamic capabilities. The results reveal that although continuous donation(CD) can’t add incremental value directly, further research suggests that the stronger the company’s dynamic capabilities, the greater the effect of CD on the corporate value while we assume that all kinds of intangible and tangible resources through CD needs to adequately integrate. Besides, added research on the basis of foregoing inference shows that the more prominent the situation factors which are conducive to resources access and ability enhancement, the more reward the CD brings about. The paper provides new theory and empirical evidences to further understande the value effect of CD. And it is of great enlightenments not only for decision-making sections to make appropriate policy to promote enterprises’ CD,but also for enterprises to set practical countermeasures to increase CD’s return.

Hu Huaxia, Hong Hong, Xiao Lulu,Liu Wen
    2017, 38(6): 135-143.
    Abstract ( 709 )
Abstract:Is it possible for the visible hand of government to improve the comprehensive utilization of resources and guide the innovation of resource input through tax incentives? Based on the new growth theory and resource-based theory, this paper takes the A-share listed companies in China from 2008 to 2015 as the sample, by examining the impact of the actual tax rate on R & D investment and cost stickiness, revealing the resource allocation effect of tax preference, taking the ownership property as moderator and cost stickiness as mediating variables. It finds that tax preference has a positive effect on R & D investment. Cost stickiness contributes to enhancing the R & D investment, which mediates on the relationship. The ownership property moderates this relationship through cost stickiness. This result provides a theoretical basis and useful reference for the study of resource allocation effect of tax preference.

Government assistance or public service: A study of Chinese poverty reduction policy efficiency for urban and rural migrating population
    Xu Junling, Fang Wenjun
    2017, 38(6): 152-160.
    Abstract ( 501 )
Based on the survey data of rural floating population over the years in CHNS database, this paper empirically tests efficiency of government assistance and public services for rural floating population. The result shows that public service can reduce poverty level of rural floating population from two aspects--the direct inreasement of income and the protection and inreasement of rights, personal income does not play a good role as a basis for targeting of poor rural floating population, government cash assistance has a strong crowding out effect on personal income of relative poverty rural floating population, absolute poverty rural floating population still has will to continue to work hard even if government cash assistance is obtained, effectiveness of it is different because of the internal differentiation of poor rural floating population, and government cash assistance and public services have a significant effect on shortening time of poverty reduction for absolute poverty rural floating population, but the effect of policies and measures is different, and the contribution of medical insurance is larger. In view of above findings, this paper make some suggestions. Firstly, integrated service model need to be established through integrating public services and cash assistance. Secondly, creating identification and targeting mechanism of rural floating population to improve targeting efficiency. Government should take different measures to save rural floating population, according to internal differentiation of them. To shorten poverty alleviation time of rural floating population of absolute poverty, it is important for government to focus on their medical risk when making polity.
