Zhang Yong, Wang Xin, Hou Min, Yao Qiong
    2017, 38(7): 1-8.
    Abstract ( 548 )
Based on the institutional theory, this paper constructs a model of institutional driving factors, political connection and firm’s participating intention in standard competition, which probes into the influencing mechanism of coercive, normative and mimetic factors on the participating intention in standard competition, as well as the mediating role of political connection. By using the structural equation model to analyze the data from 265 Chinese firms, the paper finds the coercive, normative and mimetic factors in institutional environment have significant positive impact on participating intention in the standard competition, and political connection plays a partial intermediary role in the influencing mechanism. This study systematically explores the non-efficient driving factors of standard competition. It not only enriches the theoretical research on the driving factors of standard competition but also helps firms to acquire legitimacy in the standard competition and obtain competitive advantages.

    2017, 38(7): 9-16.
    Abstract ( 641 )
Under the new normal of economics, technology innovation has become a key driver of economic development. Taking the A-share listed companies in Shenzhen and Shanghai stock markets as a research sample, this paper tested the technology innovation influence mechanism on corporate performance and focused on the affected area and conditions of executive compensation contract particularly with the method of general least square. The results show that technology innovation process is dynamic, which does not necessarily improve corporate performance. Taking executive compensation contract as a moderator, further conclusion revealed that executive compensation contract played a positive role on the relationship between exploitative technology innovation and corporate performance. Unfortunately, we also found negative governance effect of executive compensation on the exploratory technology innovation economic consequence. General speaking, the governance effects of executive compensation contract are not satisfactory.

Strategies of knowledge sharing in synergetic innovation based on stochastic differential game
    Zhu Huainian1, Liu Yixin2, Zhang Chengke1, Zhang Guangyu2
    2017, 38(7): 17-25.
    Abstract ( 976 )
In this paper, knowledge sharing between enterprise and university in industry-university-research synergetic innovation is studied by constructing a stochastic differential game model involving stochastic disturbance. Dynamic programming method is employed to derive the equilibrium knowledge-sharing strategies and subsidy ratio both in Stackelberg game and cooperative game. By comparing the obtained results, we find that: (1) both in Stackelberg game and cooperative game, the more knowledge sharing cost and knowledge decay rate, the less knowledge is shared. The higher knowledge innovation ability and marginal profit, the more knowledge is shared; and (2) the optimal knowledge sharing, the total profit, the expected innovative knowledge and its variance of the cooperative game are higher than that of the Stackelberg game respectively.

    Zhu Minghao1, Dou Shuihai1, Jia Ji2
    2017, 38(7): 26-36.
    Abstract ( 619 )
As the pillar industry, the auto industry has promoted social and economic development with its innovated technology supported by government policies. The paper focuses on the technological innovation policy, utilizes the factor analysis method, entropy weight method and gray comprehensive evaluation method to study empirically the policy's effects on China's auto industry, not only based on the researches of scholars at home and abroad, but from different aspects, such as overall effects, economic benefits, technology input and output. The research finds that the auto industry has been basically innovated and developed under the support of national policies, proving to be effective as a whole. Though the economic benefits are subject to rising with fluctuations and the uplift of the technology input tends to be wave-shaped, the output continues to increase. However, several policy effects are still poor and the industrial progress relies mainly on financial funds. So the adjustment must be timely carried out for the support policy to establish an innovation system of the industrial technology which is applicable for the new period’s progress.

Chen Ling 1, Yang Wenhui 2
    2017, 38(7): 37-43.
    Abstract ( 726 )
R&D tax credits can reduce R&D cost of enterprises and improve efficiency of investments. Current literature estimates the effectiveness of R&D tax credit on innovation in different countries or areas and has no consistent answer. China has adopted R&D tax credit in recent years, but the policy effect is still unclear. The research uses the data of China’s listed companies from 2010 to 2012, explores the distribution mechanisms of tax credits, and evaluates its effectiveness on R&D investment. The results indicate that firms with short listed age, high autonomy in management, large scale of employees and located in high marketization area have higher probabilities to obtain R&D tax credits. On average, R&D tax credit facilitates firm’s R&D investment, and the results are consistent in manufacturing industries. But R&D tax credit has no significant impact on R&D investment in information technology and scientific service industries.

An evaluation of R&D efficiencies of industrial clusters through the three-stage benevolent DEA
Li Ye, Wang Yanzhang, Cui Qiang
    2017, 38(7): 54-61.
    Abstract ( 709 )
In recent years, R&D efficiency has aroused wide concern among researchers, but few studies have involved the R&D efficiency of industry clusters. This paper selects internal R&D expenditure and number of R&D personnel as an input, and number of invention patents authorization is chosen as an output. Then this paper proposes the three-stage benevolent DEA model considering cooperation between decision-making units and calculates the R&D efficiencies of 10 industrial clusters during 2008-2012. The results verify the feasibility of the model and show that: (1) R&D efficiencies have increased obviously after the environmental factors and random factors are eliminated; (2) urban per capita GDP and number of graduates have a significant positive impact on the input redundancy of internal R&D expenditure and number of R&D personnel. The proportion of government R&D funds in urban total R&D expenditure has a positive influence in the input redundancy of internal expenditure of R&D while it has a negative influence in the number of R&D personnel.

    Zheng Gang, Guo Yanting
    2017, 38(7): 62-71.
    Abstract ( 737 )
In recent years, some latecomer firms are able to challenge leading companies with better resource platform, broader learning approaches and richer capability base. These changes are closely associated with the positions, scopes and speed of “new technological catch-up”. Based on the view of dynamic capabilities, this study tries to open the “black box” of how latecomers adjust strategically by means of dynamic capabilities and transform from the state of catch-up to that of leapfrog. It first illustrates the differences between “new technological catch-up” and traditional ones; then summarizes longitudinally the changes in strategic orientation and the efficacy of dynamic capabilities in different stages; and compares horizontally the reasons underlying diverse paths from the state of catch-up to that of leapfrog among three companies. It expects to inspire these latecomers who are approaching frontiers, in terms of forming globally competitive capabilities.

    Hu Pan1,2, Yu Bo1
    2017, 38(7): 72-80.
    Abstract ( 693 )
Abstract: Local search, which is an important means to improve the firm innovation performance, can maintain the continuity and coherence of the organizational routines by the search and exploitation of neighborhood knowledge. By dividing the catch-up process into the early stage and the later stage,we use structural equation model and multiple regression model to examine the mediating effect of capability reconfiguration and the moderating effect of catch-up stages on the relationship between local search and firm innovation performance. The results show that: 1) local search has a significant positive impact on firm innovation performance; 2) capability reconfiguration plays a complete mediating role on the relationship between local search and firm innovation performance; 3) the catch-up phase significantly moderates the relationship between capability reconfiguration and firm innovation performance: in the early stage of catch-up, the capability evolution has a positive effect on firm innovation performance, and the capability substitution has the negative impact on firm innovation performance; in the later stage of catch-up, the capability evolution has a negative effect on firm innovation performance, and the capability substitution has the positive impact on firm innovation performance. This study enriches the research of the mechanism of local search on enterprise innovation, verifies the important role of capability reconfiguration in firm innovation and provides theoretical guidance for the local knowledge search and innovation practice of the catch-up firms.

The technology catching-up opportunity and performance of emerging giants’ enterprises — Based on the theoretical and empirical analysis of strategic emerging industry
Huang Yongchun, Wang Zuli, Xiao Yapeng
    2017, 38(7): 81-90.
    Abstract ( 779 )
Emerging giants are to seize opportunity window of a new round of technological change to make efforts to promote the enterprises’ catch-up process. But it also induced enterprises' “investment tide ”phenomenon in the catch-up process of strategic emerging industries. Based on the interaction effect between resources accumulation and entry timing, we will discuss timing mechanism and performance formation mechanism that the emerging giants’ enterprises enter the strategic emerging industries to catch up. And we will build the revenue and cost functions of the evolution of strategic emerging industries, and then make a comparative analysis on performance at different entry timing through mathematical model and simulation. Finally, we make an example of China's high-speed rail industry to analyze it. Studies have shown: (1)Internal resources and external environment influence enterprises’ choice of entry timing together . Thus, emerging giants’ enterprises should enter in chaotic period or formation period of dominant design of the strategic emerging industries. (2)But simply entry timing can not determine the enterprises’ performance, which means the enterprise also need to select appropriate strategic direction and catch-up path after entering strategic emerging industries to seek interaction effect between resources accumulation and entry timing that supporting the enterprises’ catching-up process. (3) In view of this, emerging giants’ enterprises with strong first-mover advantage should implement catch-up in the later chaotic period of he evolution of strategic emerging industries, and they should implement a complex technological breakthrough -oriented strategy. Emerging giants’ enterprises with weak first-mover advantage should implement catch-up in the infancy formation period of dominant design, and they should implement a complex market-oriented strategy.

A study of the relationship between R&D personnel’s successful or failed experiences and innovative behaviors
Gu Yuandong, Zhong Weiguo, Zhou Wenli
    2017, 38(7): 100-107.
    Abstract ( 711 )
Based on social cognitive theory, we thoroughly analyze the effects of R & D personnel’s and their colleagues’ successful or failed experiences on their innovative behavior and supervisor support’s moderating effect. The survey research finds: (1) Through partial mediating effect of creative self-efficacy, successful or failed experiences have indirect effects on R & D personnel’s innovative behavior. And the effect of successful experience is positive, and the effect of failed experience is negative. Supervisor supports have both negative moderation role on the relationship between successful experiences and creative self-efficacy and the relationship between failed experiences and creative self-efficacy. That is, in the case of high-level supervisor support, the impacts of successful or failed experiences on creative self-efficacy are both relatively weak. (3) Because of supervisor supports’ moderating role to “successful or failed experiences → creative self-efficacy”, successful and failed experiences’ indirect effects on R & D personnel’s innovative behavior through creative self-efficacy’s mediating role are both relatively weak in the case of high-level supervisor support. (4) Supervisor supports moderate the negative impact (total effect) of failed experience on R & D personnel’s innovative behavior.
