The path for the impact of enterprise network capability on innovation performance

Abstract: Based on the case study involving three cell phone manufacturing firms, how firms utilize innovation network to improve their innovation performance is explored. It is found that the level of network capabilities would impact the level of the innovation network significantly. Firms could use network capabilities to improve their positions in the network and enhance the competence of innovative network, and leverage innovative resources in the innovation network to improve innovation performance itself. It is also found that network capabilities could substitute technological capabilities in the short term, but in the long run, firms must improve their technological capabilities to obtain sustained innovation performance. The research extends the path knowledge involving the impact of network capabilities on innovation performance.
