Abstract

When individual, team, and organizational knowledge is transformed into knowledge capital, many modes will have the influence on the result of knowledge capitalization. Knowledge management research has recently paid more attention to the modes of knowledge capitalization at different main body levels. Based on the theoretical interpretation and propositions, six representative firms are selected as research samples, and multiple cases research method is adopted to validate and identify individual, team, and organizational knowledge capitalized modes by using cross-case comparative analysis. The research findings indicate as follows: (1) Individual knowledge capitalized modes include training, learning by doing, and the investment in education. (2) Team knowledge capitalized modes include team meetings, team norms, team interactions, and team compositions. (3) organizational knowledge capitalized modes include organizational support, organizational structure, organizational culture, organizational institution, and information technology.
