Abstract: Based on the literature review, a hypothetical model involving the relationships among social capital, knowledge management capability, and core competence is put forward. By taking 82 high-tech enterprises in Zhejiang Province as samples, an empirical study on the model is conducted. The results show that structural capital, relational capital, and cognitive capital of high-tech enterprises all have significantly positive effects on knowledge management capability; knowledge management capability plays a complete intermediary role in the relationship between structural capital and core competence as well as in the cognitive capital and core competence; relational capital not only has the direct influence on core competence, but also has the indirect influence on core competence by knowledge management capability.
