A multilevel analysis of relationships among mianzi, reward/punishment and knowledge sharing

Abstract: The relationship between Mianzi and knowledge sharing (KS) on individual level, and the moderation effect of team sanction on the relationship are studied based on crowding-out effect. The multilevel analysis of 74 knowledge team sample using HLM shows that Mianzigain is positively related with KS and the relationship is negatively moderated by team sanction, Mianziloss is negatively related with KS and the relationship is negatively moderated by team sanction. The crowding-out effect of team sanction on Mianzi is significant. At last, some suggestion are provided in this paper.
