This paper firstly calculates China’s manufactures’ and services’ import technological sophistication on the basis of 197 economies’ manufactures’ as well as 98 economies’ services’ data of 2001-2013，and after constructing a VAR model following unit root and co-integration tests，makes a comparative empirical analysis of their economic growth effects using impulse response and variance decomposition. The findings reveal that the increase of China’s manufactures’ and services’ import technological sophistication each has a positive driving effect on China’s economic growth; and compared with the manufactures’, the services’ import technological sophistication demonstrates an even stronger impact on as well as makes more contributions to China’s economic growth.
