Abstract: In the FDI-embedded industrial clusters, the phenomenon that technical or management staffs of foreign-funded enterprises resigning to start a business has become more and more common. Achieving FDI knowledge through enterprises derivation will become an important part of domestic-funded enterprises' knowledge innovation. This paper systematically studies the mechanism and influencing factors of FDI knowledge transfer under the influence of enterprises derivation. The empirical results from Tobit Model show that enterprises derivation plays an important role in FDI knowledge transfer and especially promotes invisible knowledge transfer. Further, through comparative researches on enterprise derivation and the employee turnover samples, we find that the knowledge innovation performance in enterprises derivation sample is significantly better than that in the staff turnover sample, which further proves the promoting effect of enterprises derivation on FDI knowledge transfer.
