Abstract: In considering the effects of technology gap on reverse technology spillover, the paper puts forward threshold effect model to analyze China's outward technology spillover. Main results can be drawn as follows. Firstly, there is a nonlinear relationship between technology gap and reverse technology spillover, and two threshold values for technology gap exist. Secondly, a positive reverse technology spillover exists in the high-level technology gap district. Meanwhile, a negative reverse technology spillover exists in the middle-level technology gap district. Finally, the results also show that Chinese domestic R&D stock doesn't prompt technology growth in the short term, but in the long term, we still need to strengthen the domestic research and development.
