Abstract

Based on the data of the industry, China and the trade, this paper analyzes empirically China's manufacturing outsourcing and its influencing factors. The study results indicate that the Chinese manufacturing outsourcing is influenced by the industry characteristic factor, the national characteristic factor and the inter-state relation characteristic factor, and it is more involved in capital-intensive tasks. On the other hand, though the capital and technology intensive industry have a high level of outsourcing, they are more inclined to outsource labor-intensive tasks. In addition, the states with the thicker market will be selected for the production to save the search cost. Finally, the paper put forward some suggestions on relevant policies based on these study results.
