Abstract: Building a scientific evaluation system for the growth capability of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) is of great significance to accurately evaluate the status quo of the SMEs in China and find out the sticking points that affect the growth of them. From perspective of enterprise bionics, both external ecological and internal organism characteristics of SMEs are embraced, and 12 evaluation modules and 27 evaluation metrics on the growth capability of SMEs are selected. Then those evaluation metrics are empirically filtered using Delphi, Membership, and correlation analysis methods in order to create an evaluation system for the growth capability of SMEs. The system possesses higher reliability and validity, and is an effective tool to perform further evaluation and measurement.
