Abstract

Based on 176 valid surveys of Chinese manufacturing industry, the relationship among environmental uncertainty, Supply Chain Integration (SCI), and firm performance is studies. The empirical results reveal that the implementation of SCI is affected by environmental uncertainty. The supply uncertainty has the negative influence, while both demand and technology uncertainties have positive effects on SCI. Besides, the results also indicate that SCI enhances firm performance, where internal integration has a significantly positive effect on firm performance, customer integration has a positive effect on operational performance, and supplier integration has no impact on the firm performance. The study's findings enrich and improve SCI researches and provide managerial insights for the firms to better implement SCI strategy.
