The influential factors of manufacturing firms’ servitization based on service innovation

Abstract: Based on the dimensions of service innovation and value migration, firstly the servitization process of manufacturing firms is described, and then a model is puts forward to analyze the influential factors of servitization in manufacturing firms. After that, Daimler’s Car2go project is introduced as an empirical study to verify the factor model with the aim to provide some inspiration for Chinese enterprises. The research shows that service innovation, customer needs, technology progress, and macro environment greatly influence the ability to creation new value, and promote the servitization process of manufacturing firms.
