Based on the relevant literature review, the hypothesis that there is either a linear or a quadratic non-linear relationship between FDI technology spillovers and technological gap was proposed. Meanwhile, regression models and the structural equation model were established, and then 248 valid samples were analyzed by using SPSS and LISREL software. Based on the strong evidence, empirical results indicate that there is a quadratic nonlinearity rather than linearity between technology spillovers and technological gap, and a threshold effect exists in the effects of technology spillovers. The conclusions provide empirical evidence and suggestions for high-tech enterprises to utilize technology spillovers.
