The competency model of group leader in the oilfield system

Abstract: The competency model of group leader in the oilfield system is constructed through literature review, questionnaire survey, and behavioral event interview. The data has been collected by the competency measurement scale and processed by the exploratory factor analysis via SPSS. The results reveal that the competency model of group leader in the oilfield system is composed of nine factors, that is, responsibility and loyalty consciousness, moral quality and behavior example, management executive ability, team building and interpersonal communication, employee benefits representative, self-emotion control, achievements, professional knowledge and skill, and other individual capacity characteristics, respectively.
