Abstract: Abstract: Since there are no consistent research conclusions on the relationship between network ties and organizational performance, the scholars introduce the moderate variables in order to deep understand their relationship. Based on the interpretation of the definition and measurement of network ties, recent studies are analyzed and appraised from three aspects, namely, the choice of contingent factors, the development of theory model, and empirical research. Some promising research directions on the relationship between network ties and organizational performance are also proposed.

Key words: network tie, interorganizational network, organizational performance, contingent perspective, moderate variable
