Abstract

With the fast development of science and technology and information globalization, people in the world are becoming increasingly interested in parallel imports issues since the middle 1980s. This article firstly introduces three representative policies of parallel imports of patented goods. Then it analyses the reasons behind whether parallel imports of patented goods are allowed or not from the viewpoint of technology, after-sale service, social welfare, market monopoly and industries development. And it analyses the influences of parallel imports policy of patented goods on the social welfare. Finally it studies China's countermeasures of parallel imports of patented goods.
