Abstract: Technological innovation takes place everyday, and today technological innovation has almost become a cosmopolitan issue. But what on earth brings about tech-innovations? Why some tech-innovations succeed while some fail? This paper attempts to tackle these issues from the visual angle of evolutionism. This paper holds that the emergence of technological innovation is due to the interaction of its underlying factors such as knowledge, information and intelligence, plus the co-evolutionary process of market, humanity, society, and social system. Tech-innovation owes its success to the selection of the market; on the contrary, the failure of tech-innovation is its failure to be selected by the market.
Key words: evolution, selection, co-evolution, underlying factor
