Responsive relationship between economic development and energy consumption in China——a practical research based on comparative de-link and re-link theory

Abstract

According to the basic theory of comparative de-link and re-link, this paper proposes a conceptual model of comparative de-link and re-link relationship and a empirical study is done on the responsive relations between Chinese economy development and energy consumption. The weak de-link relationship and an expensive re-link tendency between economy and energy are identified and some major problems and key factors are discussed accordingly. Potential crisis faced by China in the near future is forecasted and some conclusions are made in the end.
