Abstract: It's significantly important to attract and retain knowledge workers in the age of knowledge economy since the competition among enterprises is depended on the knowledge workers——the carrier of knowledge. The paper proposes the concept of organizational embeddedness and believes that there are coherent factors which make knowledge workers embedded in the organization in the communities of practice. And it makes a thorough analyzing on how the system works from coherent factors——organizational knowledge and organizational learning. Finally, the paper puts forward suggestion that enterprises should create and cultivate communities of practice.
