Credit expansion, R&D investment and China’s economic growth quantity and quality
    Wen Tao, Zhang Ziyu
    2018, 39(1): 1-8.
    Abstract ( 606 )
This paper makes an empirical analysis how credit expansion and R&D investment contribute to China economic growth from quantity and quality dimensions by using GMM for dynamic panel data method based on the inter-provincial panel data from 1998 to 2012. The result shows that: nationwide, both of credit expansion and R&D investment contribute to economic aggregate growth positively, while the effect of R&D investment is stronger than that of credit expansion. R&D investment promotes the improvement of economic quality, but credit expansion is opposite. Besides, the effects of credit expansion and R&D investment have regional disparity; it is the strongest in the east while it is inferior in the central and western regions. Promote China economy development under “new normal” background, not only need the capital factor produced by credit expansion, even need the innovative inspiration created by R&D investment more.

Enterprises’ balanced innovation search and its staged effect: Punctuated balance or simultaneous balance
    Rui Zhengyun, Luo Jinlian
    2018, 39(1): 9-17.
    Abstract ( 530 )
Open innovation requires enterprises to search knowledge externally, but existing researches on the balance of binary knowledge search are insufficient. In order to identify the dynamic matching rule between binary search balance and developmental phase of SMEs, this paper divides the external knowledge search into two modes: proactive search and reactive search, and then it explores empirically the impact of the balance between these two search modes on enterprises’ innovation performance. The results show that the balance of binary search has a significant positive impact on innovation performance, but the most appropriate patterns for enterprises’ initial stage and growth stage are different. In the initial period, there is no complementary effect between the two types of knowledge search, either too balancing or too different between the two search modes is not conducive to enterprises’ innovation performance. But in the growth period, there is a complementary effect between the two modes of knowledge search, the higher the degree of balance, the better the innovation performance. According to the above results, this paper discusses the optimal balance pattern for different stages, namely enterprises in the start-up period should choose the mode of “punctuated balance”, and after entering the growth period, the enterprise needs to transform the mode into “simultaneous balance”.

Impacts of operational mechanism of network platform on new service development performance of content provider
    Li Lei, Yang Huaizhen
    2018, 39(1): 18-25.
    Abstract ( 475 )
Content provider is the implementer of NSD in the network platform, and it is a key problem to be solved that how content provider acquires knowledge from other actors by operational mechanism of network platform and enhances new service development (NSD) performance. Based on the conclusions of out prior case study, the core concepts in this issue are analyzed and a theoretical model accompanying with research propositions is proposed. The results indicate that for content provider, capability-providing mechanism has equal positive effects on explicit and tacit knowledge acquisition from capability provider; interactive mechanism has a stronger positive effect on the acquisition of tacit than explicit knowledge from new service user; knowledge integration mechanism has a stronger positive effect on the acquisition of explicit than tacit knowledge from platform enterprise. Explicit and tacit knowledge acquisition are all positively related to two dimensions of NSD performance (i.e. the number of new service and the evaluation of new service), in which explicit knowledge acquisition has a stronger positive effect on the number of new service than the valuation of new service, but the effect of tacit knowledge acquisition is opposite. Content provider technology readiness and task complexity all play positive moderating effects on the relationship between operational mechanism of network platform and knowledge acquisition of content provider. Our study further unlocks the “black box” of NSD model based on open network platform and extends innovation management theory to the network context. There also have practical implications for the actors in the network platform to synergistically promote NSD activities.

Impact of open innovation and absorptive capacity on innovation performance:An empirical analysis of China’s auto firms
Li Xianjun, Zhong Ling, Wang Jinglun, Wang Wei
    2018, 39(1): 45-52.
    Abstract ( 661 )
China's auto industry has experienced more than 60 years of large-scale, full range of technology introduction, widely used in the open innovation practice, but still can not establish independent innovation ability. Maybe the reason is that China's automobile enterprises’ understanding of open innovation is still insufficient, and failed to form a sufficient absorptive capacity. This leads to the failure of changing the foreign technology and resources into their own ability and innovation output. At present, there are few researches on open innovation in automobile industry, and there is little research on the integration of open innovation and absorptive capacity. Based on the characteristics of automobile industry, this paper constructs the theoretical framework of the relationship among open innovation, absorptive capacity and innovation performance in China's automobile enterprises, and puts forward some hypotheses. In this study, 6 state-owned and 6 private automobile enterprises in China were selected as the research sample, and the Bootstrap software was used to conduct a simple intermediary test and two multi-step intermediate tests. Empirical study shows that: open innovation does not directly affect the performance of enterprises, but by the actual absorptive capacity as an intermediary impact on innovation performance. The influence path is "innovation idea → openness degree → potential (reality) absorptive capacity → innovation performance". According to the research conclusion, this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to optimize the open innovation and enhance the absorptive capacity. Key words: Open innovation; Absorptive capacity; Innovation performance; Automobile enterprise

Dynamic change and international comparison of domestic technical content in manufacturing exports
Song Zhijie, Zhao Tong, Xu Lei
    2018, 39(1): 53-63.
    Abstract ( 463 )
This paper construction index of technical content from the perspective of value-added trade and consider the influence of imported intermediate products. The data of 59 countries from OECD input-output tables are used to estimate the contribution of domestic technical content in export products of different types of industries, including national, manufacturing, three categories of manufacture industries according to factor endowments--labor-intensive industry, capital-intensive industry, technology-intensive industry--and 16 sub-sectors of manufacturing. The research result shows that the total domestic technical content of China’s export products occupies an absolute advantage in the world, but the domestic technology contribution of manufacturing industry is inversely proportional to factor endowment. Labor-intensive industry still plays an important role in manufacturing. The development of capital-intensive industry is limited by the constraints of natural resource. The export share and the gross domestic technical content of technology-intensive industry is the largest, but excessive foreign production enters technology-intensive industry through intermediate goods trade, lead to the fact that domestic technical content is low in manufacturing of China.

An empirical study of the influence of cluster network tie on technological entrepreneurship based on the industries in Zhejiang
Zheng Jianzhuang, Jin Yuhan, Duan Kuangzhe
    2018, 39(1): 64-73.
    Abstract ( 508 )
The firms in cluster acquire information and assets through the business and political network tie to carry on the technological entrepreneurship. The paper focuses on the following three points to explain the influencing mechanism of cluster network tie on technological entrepreneurship: Whether and how the network tie in the cluster influences on technological entrepreneurship, and the adjusting role of the dysfunctional competition between them. Based on the empirical study of six clusters in Zhejiang province, the results reveal that: Firstly, firms’ business and political network ties have significantly positive effects on firms’ technological entrepreneurship with the former’s influence greater than the latter. Business network tie facilitates the acquisition of information resources, while the political network tie reinforces the acquisition of assets. Secondly, the relationship between business network tie and firms’ technological entrepreneurship is partly mediated by information resource acquisition; the relationship between political network tie and firms’ technological entrepreneurship is fully mediated by assets resource acquisition. Thirdly, dysfunctional competition plays a negative moderating role between business network tie in the cluster and firms’ technological entrepreneurship, but not a significant moderating role between political network tie in the cluster and firms’ technological entrepreneurship.

    Zhang Xing
    2018, 39(1): 108-118.
    Abstract ( 453 )
The level of ability and management efficiency of CEO directly affect the enterprise equity value and its changes, and also the decision executive of succession is decided by the board of directors, and largely be affected of the structure of the board, and also which the proportion and the power of outside directors in the board of directors are the key factors in the decision of executive succession. Based on the analysis about the annual report data of Listed Corporation (2000-2014), the paper find that:1)The outside succession decision is the optimal decision for company after the current CEO is turn off.;2)This paper believes that the correlation between the proportion of executive succession probability and external corporate board of directors of independent directors is positive.;3)The outside succession probability increased with the proportion of outside directors and presents a monotone increasing state. This kind of relation is monotonic in the current executives of voluntary and forced redundancy of two cases.;4)By analyzing the enterprise average stock return level after the announcement of the succession information, we find corporate shareholders will benefit from the external succession, but shareholders cannot benefit from the internal succession.;5)The smaller the size of the enterprise, the higher the utility of the external succession decision, but the higher the degree of corporate regulation, the lower the utility of the external succession decision.

Environmental regulation, technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading
    Shi Lele, Zhao Jun
    2018, 39(1): 119-125.
    Abstract ( 695 )
This paper adopts the nonlinear panel threshold model based on 2002-2013 China’s provincial panel data, which takes environmental regulation and technological innovation as the threshold variable, and makes an empirical study on the impact of environmental regulation and technological innovation on industrial structure upgrading. The research shows that, whether environmental regulation intensity and other factors change or not, as long as the technological innovation level improves, industrial structure upgrading can be promoted. High intensity of environmental regulation has forced effect on technological innovation, which can promote industrial structure upgrading. Environmental regulation depends on industrial technological innovation level and has different effects on the industrial structure upgrading. The higher level of marketization and population education is conducive to industrial structure upgrading. Fixed assets investment has a negative effect on industrial structure upgrading. Foreign direct investment and urbanization have not significant effect on industrial structure upgrading. Finally, it proposes some suggestions.

    Zhang Mier, Guo Wei,Qu Ning
    2018, 39(1): 135-142.
    Abstract ( 529 )
The impact of patent traps and following litigations on technology innovation has become increasingly prominent in recent years. Patent early-warning is an important method to coping with the situation. As the first published patent documentation, patent applications can be used as a breakthrough. By analyzing feature fields in patent applications, a regression model of application features and patent litigations is established. The results show that the probability of patent litigations has significant positive correlation with the number of claims, the number of citing patents and the width of technology, and they are key features closely related to patent litigations. Thus the regression model can be used as a quantitative analysis tool in targeted technology fields to screen out high-risk patents easily leading to litigations, and conduct patent early-warning by using the first published application information.

    Abstract ( 563 )
The network of large-scale complex project is not a simple superposition of subnetworks, but a hierarchical spatial structure. Based on the theory and method of complex network, this paper constructs the triple model of the network of large-scale complex project, defines the link operation and contract operation of the spatial network, then investigate the relative coefficient, the critical index of sub project, the critical index of activity and the solution algorithm. Based on these results we can analyze the features of large-scale complex project from the project level, subproject level and activity level and put forward targeted management strategies. The case study suggests that the spatial structure and network operation can precisely describe the structure of large-scale complex project, and by analyzing the features of spatial structure we can propose effective project management strategy.
