The evolution mechanisms of the enterprise network in Chengdu software industry cluster

Abstract

Abstract: Based on the enterprise data collected from the year of 1992 to 2009 in Chengdu software industry cluster, the "enterprise- enterprise" one-mode network is derived from the cluster’s affiliation network, and its evolution mechanisms are analyzed based on both aspects of the ego-centered network and the whole network through network visualization by using software Pajek. Several conclusions are drawn as follows: Most enterprises in the cluster have no transformation, and the others which have the transformation mostly follow a steady development trend. The ego-centered networks grow based primarily on the increase of the same-business enterprises, and supplement by enterprises’ diversified development. The whole network grows based on the increase of nodes and relationships.
