Abstract: Based on the data collected from CSSCI(1998-2003), each humanity and social science discipline paper structure of 38 research oriented universities of science and technology are analyzed quantitatively, some indicators such as range, standard deviation, variability coefficient, concentration ratio, etc. are utilized respectively. Discipline scale differences and unbalance of the structure among universities are also investigated. In order to improve the research level, these steps should be taken, namely, paying more attentions to humanity and social science disciplines, constructing harmonious discipline structure, attracting and cultivating talented persons.
