Abstract: The background and principles of the amendment on the statistical monitor system for science and technology progress of Jiangsu province are expounded.Then a primary scheme is advanced and suggestions are made on the frame, choice, standard , calculating method, and weight of index system. Furthermore, a descriptive statistical analysis is made by comparing the results of the old and new index system. Finally, several problems necessary for comprehending the amendment of the index system better are discussed.
