On the cooperative effects of competitive alliance

Abstract: Abstract: Competitive alliance is an emerging strategic mode. It is beneficial to the firms improving their competitive ability through a creative synergy effect. Thus, it has become a focus in strategic management field. The content of cooperative effects of competitive alliance is discussed, a typology method is proposed, and the factors that can influence those effects are introduced based on the existing related research. Then the correlations between the effects and the influencing factors are tested using structure equation model with the data colleted from domestic firms. The results show that external environment and internal resource characteristics can remarkably influence thechoice of alliance structure. Meanwhile, the structureof competitive alliance notablly determinesthe cooperative effects.
