A study on the relationship between entrepreneur's social capital and entrepreneurial performance

Abstract: Based on the sample of 219 enterprises in Guangdong, this paper empirically analyzed the effect of a group of factors on entrepreneurial performance, including entrepreneurial vertical social capital, entrepreneurial horizontal social capital and entrepreneurial social relational capital. And this research samples covered different entrepreneurial scale, different entrepreneurial nature with different founded life. The research results were as follows: the degree of positive effect caused by entrepreneurial horizontal social capital and entrepreneurial social relational capital, was adjusted by entrepreneurial scale; entrepreneurial nature played a role on the relationship between entrepreneurial horizontal social capital and entrepreneurial performance; entrepreneurial founded life acted as an adjusting factor in the effect of entrepreneurial vertical/horizontal social capital on entrepreneurial performance. Furthermore, on the basis of this study, we propose some methods to increase SME's entrepreneurial performance from the social capital perspective.
