Abstract: Based on a survey on 30,000 Chinese science and technology personnel in China, it is found that nearly one half of the respondents think academic misconduct is common in China. More than one half of them say that they know the researchers around them have committed academic misconduct. Most respondents think the evaluation system is the main cause of academic misconduct. Around one third of the respondents hold a tolerant attitude towards academic misconducts. Around half of them have never systematically learned the knowledge about academic misconduct. Based on the survey results, related policy suggestions are raised in the end.
