Mechanism of innovation adoption by the core firms in the emerging serviceindustry ecosystem: An exploratory case study

Abstract: The investigation involving the mechanism of service innovation adoption by the core firms in emerging service industry ecosystem is aimed to. The innovation adoption mechanism of dominators, other keystones, niche players, and hub landlords were analyzed from the micro point of view, as well as the overall system adoption mechanism was analyzed from the meso viewpoint by using aviation market alliance of relevance airports in northeast hinterland and the Bohai Rim advocated by Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport as the exploratory case sample. Research findings are five hypotheses concerned with the relationship among niches and resources, niche enhancement, network architecture, and performance vision exhibition, which offer a theoretical framework of the innovation adoption in the emerging service industry for further studies. Finally, the adoption of service innovation and technological innovation is compared with each other to identify their common and different points.
