Abstract: Research on the issues of remanufacturing production planning and scheduling is of great practical significance for us to effectively manage remanufacturing production activities and promote further development of the remanufacturing industry, so as to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction, and develop circular economy. The state-of-the-art research of Remanufacturing Production Planning and Scheduling (RPPS) is introduced. Five main aspects, which are the influencing factors of RPPS uncertainties and the methods to reduce the impact of uncertainties, modeling and solving methods of production planning, strategies and methods of production scheduling, the integrated framework and application tools of RPPS, and the practice cases in remanufacturing areas, are reviewed. Additionally, some closely relevant research topics involving RPPS are also surveyed, such as disassembly planning, lead time, and capacity planning. Finally, directions for the future research are discussed.
