Abstract: Abstract: The externality theory is the starting point for the economic research on Technology Standard (TS), and the latter is enriched after the emergence of network industries. Since 1980’s, overseas research has been focused on the attributes, the formation mechanism, the efficiency of TSand the standard strategies, etc. The research for next step shall be devoted to improve the economic system of TS andexpand the theoretical applied fields. Comparatively, some basic cognitive problems of TS still exist in China. What is more, a lot of studies have been done on phenomena while the research on regularities is only a few.
