Abstract: Based on the springboard perspective, this paper focuses on Chinese private corporations with FDI and analyzes the effects of internationalization motivations (market-seeking, strategic asset-seeking and institution-seeking) on entry mode, as well as the moderating effects of founder's international experience between motivations and entry mode. The results show that: Although springboard perspective is supported upon market-seeking, it is negatively supported upon institution-seeking, and the analysis on strategic asset-seeking gets no support to springboard perspective; unlike springboard perspective, the international experience of founders has negative effects on the level of entry mode, and weakens the effects of market-seeking on entry mode. Research and practical implications are discussed.
