Abstract: With 131 financial conglomerates as the research targets, this paper empirically tests the outstanding issue of whether the culture control is valid and reveals the influence of leadership styles on the effectiveness of culture control. The results show that (1) there exists a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between group's culture control and subsidiary performance, and environmental uncertainty has significant positive regulation on the above relationship, so moderate culture control is an effective group control mode; (2) the leadership style has a significant impact on the effectiveness of culture control, and transformational leadership is conducive to the effectiveness of culture control, but transactional leadership style is not conducive to the effectiveness of culture control.
