Analysis on knowledge spillover of R&D investment in universities of technology, agriculture and medicine on enterprise technical innovation

Abstract: Based on 2000-2010 provincial panel data of China,the paper studies the relationships between large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in technical innovation and University R&D investment of technology, agriculture and medicine. The model results show that University R&D investment promote both enterprise innovation ability and innovation benefits. And the influences exist spillover effect in the geographical space and technological space. Technological neighbors can produce positive effect on enterprise innovation ability and innovation benefits of the regional enterprises. But the geospatial overflow appears the opposite effect in innovation ability and innovation benefits:Geographic neighbors R&D investment can promote the region's patented innovations, but it is not conducive to the new product innovation as the presence of the new product market competition.
