Research on the general feature of Chinese industrial structure based on social network analysis

Abstract

Abstract: Against the limitations and weakness of the study on industrial structure, this paper firstly introduces the method of social network analysis. By combining the social network and input-output table, a brand new study method of industrial structure has been presented based on the relationship and structure perspective. With the new method, this paper studies the general feature of Chinese industrial structure based on the data of input-output of China in 2002.With the theory of block-modeling, eight industrial blocks have been proposed and the boundary of each block has been clearly defined. The centralized trend of general industrial structure has been found, and each industry in the center industrial block has been elucidated. The conception and cases of "best substitutes industry" and "self-reflexive" industrial blocks have been mentioned, and their advantage and effect have been analyzed in the process of industrial structure adjustment and optimization.
