An Empirical Study of Adaptive R&D Project Management and Team Performance

Abstract: Today any enterprise which wants to survive in the fierce market competition must rely on successful projects. In combination with the characteristics of the R&D project management, this paper improves the "Diamond Mode" of the project management, and constructs a new method with "Five Pillars" by adding a new dimension, the vitality of the R&D product, to the original four pillars method model. By means of a case study of the R&D projects, the paper confirms the effectiveness of the new method to improve the performance of the R&D project teams.
