Research on the path and performance of the self-cultivation of emerging industries based on the capability model

Abstract:     In order to explore the mechanism of improving the performance of the self-cultivation of emerging industries through self-cultivation paths that are suitable for their own industry conditions, this paper selected the 5G industry and cloud computing industry as research objects, used the structural equation modeling method, and analyzed the universality of the newly constructed self-cultivation model for emerging industries through 591 questionnaires from enterprises in these two fields, as well as the mechanism and path of the relationship between cultivation capability and performance. The research found that basic technology, independent demand, and resources are key elements for formation of the self-cultivation capability in emerging industries, and basic technology has the greatest impact and can directly promote independent technology; the self-cultivation capability can promote independent technology and market leadership, and market leadership has a greater impact on performance improvement; different industries have differences in the focus of cultivating capability, factors and influences that affect cultivation performance, and resource related cultivation paths; and there are different mechanisms for improving the performance of self-cultivation through multiple paths. Therefore, the government should encourage various industries to adopt diversified strategies to enhance their self-cultivation capability, and treat resource factors differently based on the characteristics, development stages, and industrial environments of different industries, flexibly choose the most suitable cultivation methods, and accurately formulate cultivation strategies. These research conclusions will provide theoretical support and practical inspiration for exploring ways to improve the performance of self-cultivation of emerging industries in China.
