Abstract: From the perspective of technology ecology, this paper tries to illustrate ecological mechanisms of technology and their impacts on technology development. In particular, we explore roles of technological competition, symbiosis, ecological factors and habitat factors on technology development and introduce several hypotheses. The empirical results based on the sample of technology-intensive enterprise in Shandong Province indicate that technology symbiosis, knowledge and technological elements among ecological factors and resources of R&D and channels of technological materials among habitat factors have significant positive effects on technology development.
