A computer system for supporting online science and technology cooperation communities

Abstract

Abstract: With the rapid development of the Internet, the Online Science and Technology Cooperation Communities(OSTCCs),which are increasingly playing a vital role in the scientific and technological development, are proliferated. Based on a prior conceptual model for the collective intelligence of online communities, a computer system framework for supporting OSTCCs, which aim at promoting the developments of the communal human network and knowledge network, is suggested. On the basis of social networking site and knowledge portal, the suggested framework combines various Web/Web 2.0 technologies in order to provide the comprehensive support for OSTCCs.
