Inter-provincial technology purchase, network embeddedness and regional patent output

摘要: 本文借鉴社会网络理论中的濡染模型,将技术购买及网络嵌入变量引入区域知识生产函数,基于我国2006-2010年省际技术市场交易数据,运用面板数据模型考察了省际技术购买、网络嵌入与区域专利产出的关系。结果表明:(1)与研发投入、知识存量等要素相比,省际技术购买对区域创新产出未产生直接的促进作用;(2)技术交易网络嵌入的凝聚力机制对区域专利产出的影响不显著,而网络嵌入的结构对等机制则具有显著的正向影响,我国各区域主要通过模仿网络结构相似区域的创新行为获取知识溢出。在此基础上,探讨了对我国技术市场发展及区域创新政策设计的启示。

Abstract: This paper draws on the contagion model in social network theory, and expands the knowledge production function by introducing variables of technology purchase and network embeddedness. Then using the data of inter-provincial technology transaction of China in 2006-2010, we examine the relationships among technology purchase, network embeddedness and regional patent output with panel data models. The results show that: (1) compared with R&D investment and knowledge stock, the inter-provincial technology purchase has no influence on regional patent output; (2) The cohesion mechanism of network embeddedness by technology transaction has no significant effect on regional patent output, while the structural equivalence mechanism of network embeddedness shows significantly positive spillover effect. Most regions in China tend to get access to knowledge spillover by imitating the behavior of other regions with similar network structure. Finally, some suggestions for China's technology market development and regional innovation policy-making are put forward.
