With the increasing intensify of technology transfer and industry merger, modular theory has become a forward research field in strategic, and operational management. Firstly, an introduction about the modular theory is given, and then a review of the modular theory is conducted from product level, firm level, and inter-firms level respectively. Finally, some suggestion about the insufficiency and future trend in this field are also given.
