    2018, 39(5): 1-10.
    Abstract ( 681 )
Based on the panel data of China’s large and medium-sized industrial enterprises from 2001 to 2015, this paper compares the technology innovation efficiencies of different types of enterprises in China. The annual analysis of VRS model shows that the comprehensive technical innovation efficiency of China’s large and medium-sized enterprises keeps increasing from 2001 to 2015, and the gap among different types of enterprises is also narrowing. The comprehensive technical innovation efficiency of Sino-foreign joint ventures and foreign-owned enterprises has maintained a leading position for a long time, and the comprehensive technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of domestic-funded enterprises has been in the pursuing position during the vast majority of this period of time. By the end of 2014, the average pure technical efficiency of domestic-funded enterprises exceeded the corresponding indicators of Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan invested enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises, indicating the trend of catching-up and surpassing. The cross-phase research of the Metafrontier-Malmquist index shows that, the mean value of the index of domestic-funded enterprises is much higher than 1, indicating the tread of fast catching up; The mean value of the index of Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan invested enterprises is also higher than 1, indicating the increasing tread; the leading position of foreign invested enterprises is facing the challenges from domestic-funded enterprises and Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan invested enterprises.

A research on technological bias in the process of carbon dioxide emission reduction in China
    2018, 39(5): 29-37.
    Abstract ( 332 )
It is basic to definite the technological bias in process of carbon dioxide emission reduction of China for making emission reduction policy. Basing on the difference of mechanism of action, the model of effective factors to carbon dioxide emission was established in the paper. Taking the data of emission of 1984-2013 as samples, technological bias in the process of carbon dioxide emission reduction of China was experimentally tested through co-integration technology. The result shows that biases do exist, and technological bias leans to energy production technology rather than energy utilization technology, this is inconsistent with observation in practice. Through analysis, the reason why production technology made greater contribution than utilization did, in measurement results is related to the “Rebound Effect”. Therefore, the relevant advices for implementing the emission policy of China were, improving energy technology creativity, revolving the examining ways, saving energy in constructions and adjusting industrial structure etc.

A study of the effects of land financing on regional innovation with the evidence of panel data from Chinese provincial governments
Yan Bo, Wu Long, Han Dongling, Cheng Qijiazhi, Wu Jiannan
    2018, 39(5): 38-45.
    Abstract ( 389 )
This paper investigates the effects of land financing on regional innovation by means of 2SLS regression analysis on the panel data from 31 provincial governments in China (2003-2011). The finding shows that there is a significant inverted U-curve relationship between land financing and regional innovation. It implies that the positive externality of land financing is decreasing while the negative externalities are emerging, so that land financing promotes regional innovation at the beginning but jeopardizes it in the end. These compound effects reflect the rational choices of local governments under strict resource constraints and strong and target pressures, and enterprises are also rational in pursuit of short-term profits and avoiding innovation risks. It highlights new perspectives for exploring the institutional antecedents of regional innovation and further understanding the cause-effect of policy implementation paradox in China, and it also provides implications for practitioners to promote comprehensive reforms, advance the new-type urbanization and implement innovation-led development strategy.

    2018, 39(5): 46-55.
    Abstract ( 504 )
We use a 3-year panel data (from 2009 to 2011) from the Innovative Firms Database collected by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) to test our model. Through regression analysis, we respectively test the effects of firm-firm cooperation and firm-university cooperation on firm international innovation, and explore the contingency mechanism by empirically testing the moderating effects of government involvement. Our results indicate that firm-firm cooperation positively leads to firm international innovation performance, while firm-university cooperation has an inverted U-shaped effect on firm international innovation performance. Besides, government involvement positively moderates the relationship between firm-firm cooperation and international innovation performance, and improves the relationship between firm-university cooperation and international innovation performance.

    Sun Qian, Ou Guangjun
    2018, 39(5): 67-76.
    Abstract ( 456 )
Network Embeddedness becomes a popular paradigm for innovation. But the mechanism between double heterogeneous networks embeddedness and enterprise innovation performance remains vague. From absorptive capacity perspective, a theoretical model of heterogeneous networks embeddedness and enterprise innovation performance is put forward on the base of deconstruction of absorptive capacity, taking hi-tech firms in Dong Hu Hi-tech Zone as study objects, using the questionnaire method and structural equation model method to analyze the relationship between double heterogeneous network embeddedness and innovation performance for opening the black box of enterprise innovation activities. Results show that: (1) double network embeddedness enhance enterprise innovation performance through different mechanisms; (2) absorptive capacity is a comprehensive capacity made from four sub-capabilities according to the reticular formation. Finally, some suggestions on how to enhance enterprise innovation performance is put forward.

Corporate social responsibility, monetary policy and trade credit financing
    Zhang Zhengyong, Deng Bofu
    2018, 39(5): 94-102.
    Abstract ( 408 )
Abstract: This paper investigates the impacts of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) on trade credit financing using domestic listed firms from 2004 to 2013 from the view of the monetary policy changes through Tobit regression approach. Our results indicate that compared with firms with low quality of the CSR, firms with high quality of the CSR are more likely to obtain more trade credit. Especially during monetary contracting periods when firm obtains less trade credit financing, high quality CSR help firms to obtain more trade credit financing, and these results hold after we control the endogeneity. This paper extends the literature about the research of interaction relationship between macroeconomic and micro enterprise behavior, and also enriches the trade credit as a substitute for intuitional finance.

A study of the optimal allocation of key resources in innovative enterprises from the perspective of efficiency
Zhang Xiaoming, Wang Yingming, Shi Hailiu
    2018, 39(5): 103-111.
    Abstract ( 443 )
In this paper, the DEA model is improved, so that through the optimization of key resources we can minimize the key inputs, or maximize the important output, or optimize the both simultaneously. The improved DEA model is used to optimize t the allocation of resources and adjust the efficiency of innovation. The research shows that:(1)When the target is the minimization of the key inputs, the optimal allocation of single key resource can be more targeted and more economical; the optimal allocation of multiple key resources can meet different needs but also reduce the optimized space of individual resources. (2) When the target is the maximization of the important output, it can also be achieved by optimizing the allocation of key resources, but due to the increase in important output, compared to the case (1), it sacrifice some critical resources to reduce the space.(3) When the objective is to minimize the critical inputs and maximize the critical outputs, the objective also can be achieved through the allocation optimization of key resource, and the key resources of the optimization space is different from the first two.(4) When we achieve the above three goals through the optimization of key resources, the evaluated enterprise are improved from non DEA effective unit to DEA effective unit.
